Hazell and Jackson teaching Environmental Law at University of Ottawa

August 20, 2013

Stephen Hazell and Sarah Jackson of Ecovision Law are teaching Environmental Law at University of Ottawa law school in the autumn  2013 semester.

Students will be given a foundational understanding of Canadian environmental law by studying its history, development, and underlying principles and ethics. The class will help students develop a critical approach to environmental law on both the federal and provincial level. With this, they will analyze the legislation and common law principles that govern environmental protection and management, liability for environmental harm, environmental rights, public participation, Aboriginal rights, environmental assessment, and climate change.

Stephen has taught both Environmental Assessment Law and Natural Resources Law at the University of Ottawa as an adjunct professor the past two years.
