On June 3rd, Stephen Hazell spoke to the Greenspace Alliance of Canada's Capital about the ways in which global- and national-level nature commitments can play an important role in protecting nature at the local level. Hazell discussed three key national nature commitments and the implications each has on the local level:
Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF);
National Biodiversity Strategy; and
Nature Accountability Act.
He also emphasized that the moment to act is now, by seizing on the opportunities offered from these historic commitments to bring change to the municipal and provincial levels as well.
